A panel of experts including Dr Khin Mar Mar Kyi, Martin Smith and Dr Michael Marett-Crosby will discuss some of the current challenges that Myanmar is facing. Join us at the Savile Club in Mayfair this May, for what is sure to be a fascinating and timely discussion. Tickets cost £20 each, or £50 to attend the talk followed by a three-course, sit down dinner with wine. £15 from the sale of each ticket will go to Prospect Burma.
Dr Khin Mar Mar Kyi is the inaugural Daw Aung San Suu Kyi Gender Research Fellow and award winning social anthropologist, based at the University of Oxford. She is also the producer of an acclaimed documentary, Dreams of Dutiful Daughters (2013). She taught for many years at the Australian National University.
Martin Smith is an author, Prospect Burma Trustee and Myanmar expert. He is a leading authority on Burmese politics and researched for two decades, reported extensively and made several TV documentaries on Burma.
Dr Michael Marett-Crosby is a trustee of Prospect Burma, the Rangoon General Hospital Reinvigoration Charitable Trust, the Suu Foundation, Irrawaddy Policy Exchange, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi Trust for Health and Education, the Tekkatho Foundation and the Lucy Faithfull Foundation. Prior to working for Daw Suu, he worked at Oxford University, in the UK prison service and as a Catholic priest in Jersey.
Prospect Burma is a non-political charitable organisation which provides higher-education scholarships to Burmese students around the world, regardless of religious or ethnic background, with the aim of gaining vital skills and expertise which they will take back to the country.
