Joanna volunteered with Prospect Burma for a year before joining as a consultant in June 2020, working across bilateral fundraising, programme development and supporter relations.
She spent a number of years in Yangon, working in the Political Section of the European Union Delegation to Myanmar, and then as an Analyst and later Research Director at Frontier Myanmar Research and Advisory. Here she specialised in the real estate and energy sectors, leading the research team, managing the office and representing the company at events and with clients.
Joanna graduated with first class honours in Geography from the University of Cambridge and completed an MA and PhD at the University of Nottingham, both focusing on aspects of Myanmar’s economy and healthcare. She is a native English speaker and is conversational in French, German and Burmese.
